This page is dedicated to the Trauma Awareness Project done at CART. This project was a substitute for the DelveHomes project that was done by the majority of the class. It was ultimately created as an entrance to the American Trauma Society, for their user media contest.
This project was one of our first uses of HTML and CSS together, and was a great exercise in our reasoning and creative abilities. We had to couple a knowledge of basic HTML framework alongside use of CSS, to control the structural format of the overall website. Our goal was to create a visually appealing and navigable website. In doing this, we learned new CSS methods, and improved our abilities in CSS Flexbox and positioning.
The project was definitely a challenging one, as I had to learn and improve my own personal skills in CSS in order to bring everything together. It was also an exercise in collaboration, as this was a group project. I had to work alongside a team member, and split up work with them, which itself required coordination and communication.
The Trauma Awareness Website Project was also a test of our ability to reflect on previous experiences, as we had done the Zen Garden project, and our Flexbox demo, and there were certainly CSS methods that I had employed previously that could be used here. For instance, I used a similar nesting method to the one done in our Flexbox demo in this project.
